The retrofit solution will allow real-time access to operating data and make it possible to track voltage and power values in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At almost 3,000 meters, the Zugspitze substation is the highest power grid in Bayernwerk\u00b4s service area, supplying electricity to the Zugspitzbahn railway, the German Weather Service station and the Max Planck Society research facility, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the core of the <strong>retrofit<\/strong> installation is a <strong>rugged industrial router from Garderos<\/strong>, supporting both conventional public cellular and <strong>LTE-450 connectivity<\/strong>. This combination ensures secure and highly available data transmission \u2013 even under harsh alpine conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Applications that Strengthen the Grid<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Remote control technology:<\/strong> enabling real-time monitoring and management of grid assets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Power quality management: <\/strong>capturing and analyzing data on voltage and network stability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Future-ready design:<\/strong> The Zugspitze project showcases today\u2019s digital ONS capabilities.
